Stage 4

The terrain eases as you leave the central fells and walk through Skiddaw Forest toward the northern fringe of the Lakes. Woodland, moorland edges, and fewer steep climbs than the Langdale section.

Caldbeck is a quiet village north of the national park boundary with a pub and basic services. A smaller stop that marks the transition from mountain Lakes to rolling Cumbrian countryside.
